This week Perranporth Y6 played football against local rivals Goonhavern in the ‘Ashes’ matches. In their match, the boys got off to a flying start and built up a healthy lead only for Goonhavern to come back strong in the second half. Thank-fully Perranporth managed to secure another goal to secure the win 5 - 3. The girls too faced fierce opposition and played brilliant football. There were countless near misses and great opportunities. Unfortunately Goonhavern managed to sneak a single goal and Perranporth ran out of time before they could manage to equalise. The match finished 0 –1 to Goonhavern. Both boys and girls teams played and represented our school superbly. A huge well done! A very exciting first leg tie, we look forward to visiting Goonhavern for the second leg.
