What a fantastic first half term. The children are now demonstrating that they are the'top of the infants'. Socially and independently the children are demonstrating increased responsibility and resilience, academically the children are rising to the new challenges of their year group.

In literacy the children have written their own smoothie menus. They have included alliteration and similes to gauge the reader’s attention. In design technology the children have made and evaluated their smoothies- Some of the combinations tasted amazing!

In maths we have looked at addition and subtraction being the inverse of each other. We have also used various resources to demonstrate how to multiply.

Stars of the week- Abi has been awarded 'star of the week' for her maturity and defining one of our diamond rules- 'taking care of everyone and everything'. Abi was at hand to assist a friend during a lunch time this week then quickly informed an adult.

Reader of the week- Eva for her clear reading voice and being active in group read discussions.

Thank you for all of your support as parents. I have sent PE kits home. Please could you ensure they come back in after half-term. It has been very helpful that they are all clearly labelled. We still require some aprons for art so any old shirts would be much appreciated.

Enjoy your half term and I look forward to seeing your wonderful children after the break.
