Penhaligon Newsletter 14.10.16
The children have continued their fantastic learning across the curriculum. We have been reading and analysing menus in literacy. Some children have started to use dictionaries to find the meaning of new words. In maths we have started to learn the relationship between analogue and digital clocks. The children have also completed their half-termly assessments.
Thank you for all of your effort to get the children ready for the class assembly on Tuesday. I am sure you would agree that they were brilliant at speaking, acting and singing.
Spellings: Next week’s phonics and spelling test focus: alternative pronunciation for ‘c’and ‘g’.
Home Learning: This week’s home learning is to reinforce the children’s knowledge of nouns. ***Please note the extension task is optional.
Stars of the Week: A huge congratulations to Freya and Natalie. Freya continuously demonstrates our diamond rule – ‘Follow instructions with thought and care’. Natalie learnt her words and the song words for our assembly brilliantly.
Reader of the Week:
Seb is Penhaligon Class’ reader of the week for demonstrating a fantastic understanding of how to use a dictionary to find the meanings of new vocabulary. Well done Seb!
