Things to share at home

Learning log homework will be set on Thursdays and should be in school by the following Wednesday, ready to share. Each piece of work will link with what is being taught in class and will be designed so the child can use their own ideas and skills to complete it.

New spellings will normally be seton Thursday and tested on the following Thursday.

We expect the children to learn their spellings independently at home, but please support them by checking their understanding of these words and testing them. A list of the spellings to learn and write out will be in each child’s home spelling book.

Home readers will be taken in on Mondays and given out on Tuesdays.

PE kits and water bottles should bein school every day.

Parents’ group will be on a Thursdayfrom 8.45 until 9.00 am prompt.

Things that will be taught at school

Our main Creative Learning Journeytheme for this term will be The Romans. Thiswill include lots of tasks and activities including:

Geography:

· Atlas skills looking at countries in the world.

History

· Research into the Roman Empire and way of life.

· Roman soldier workshop

Music:

· Singingsessions – weekly

· Ukulelelessons

Art / D&T:

· Creating Roman artefacts including mosaics

In addition the following will be taught:

French ICT RE PSHE
