It is an exciting year as the children are in KS2 now and we look forward to seeing them develop and become more independent.
Homework is given out every Friday and should be handed in every Wednesday.Reading books are given out weekly. Please make sure you hear your child read and sign their reading record.
Your child needs their PE kit in school at all times. We do PE on a Friday afternoon, however we often do PE on other days too.
PA are currently going swimming and JSC will begoing during the Spring Term 2016.
Literacy – many children will continue to do RML but there will be some literacy units linked to topic work.
Maths – this term we concentrate on number, in particular addition and subtraction. Please help your child to learn their times tables starting with 2, 5 and 10.
Topic –The Stone Age.
In this topic we will be linking all curriculum subjects. In art we will be cavepainting, in science we will be learning about different rocks and soils and in history we will be comparing and contrasting our life in 2015 with the life of Stone Age people. In September we will be visiting Cresswell Craggs to see how Stone Age people really lived.
We are participating in an exciting project with 2other schools in Norfolk where, by using web based programs and apps on the internet, we will be sharing our work and learning more about each other and where we live.
In Year 3 all children will be expected to learn French as a Modern Foreign Language. They will be taught basic vocabulary, phrases and information about France.
