Dear Parents and Carers,
This week has flown by as we have continued our study of the Romans and Italy.
The children have re-enacted chariot races on the field to support their creative writing, used their shape vocabulary in maths (perpendicular, parallel, acute, obtuse etc) to describe shapes, compared the weather in Italy and the UK, as well as researched Roman food - I am sure they will tell that some of the things the Romans ate were very strange!
To practise times tables this week, you might like to let your child access an on-line activity, e.g.
You can choose which times tables your child wants to practise (in Year 3, we focus on 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10) and can choose to add in the division facts or not.
Next week will be assessment week. We will assess on reading comprehension, writing, arithmetic, maths reasoning, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
As always, if you have any concerns or comments, please email us at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org or drop in to see us.
Mrs Burns and Mrs Smitheram.
