Times tables are essential within all areas of mathematics. The 2014 Mathematics National Curriculum expects that by the end of Year 4, children will know all the times tables facts up to 12 x 12.

At Cheswick Green Primary School, we take part in Times Table Tuesday once a week, where the children practise their times tables. However, in order to become confident in their instant recall, it is essential that extra time at home is dedicated to rehearsing and learning.

The following guidelines, taken from the National Curriculum, are what the children are expected to know by the end of that academic year:
