Our theme this week is.... "Jack and the Beanstalk"

Jack lives with his mother, they are very poor. One day Jack sells the cow for some beans. His mother is angry, but the beans are magic!

A gigantic beanstalk grows overnight which Jack climbs to a land high in the sky. There he comes to a castle that is the home of a giant and his wife. When the giant sleeps, he steals a bag of gold coins and makes his escape down the beanstalk.Jack returns twice more, each time he learns of other treasures and steals them as the giant sleeps. After his third trip the giant wakes and chases Jack back down the beanstalk where he calls to his mother for an axe.

We mixed our own shades of green using two primary colours and painted leaves for our 'Jack and the Beanstalk' display. Can the children remember which two colours we used?

We tried a 3 bean salad this week in cooking. It was definitely more popular with some than others :)

We became scientists this week keeping our very own 'diary' to record the growth of our broad bean seed we planted on Monday. Each morning we drew our seeds and noticed the changes throughout the week. We also spoke about what we needed to ensure we did,, in order for them to grow.
