New Life & Easter
We began the week with a Spring walk around the school playgrounds to find some signs of spring, the children looked very carefully and enjoyed listening to the bird sounds too. This week the children have begun to make their beautiful Easter cards, and have had creative opportunities with a wide range of construction and media. In addition, the children in Foundation 2 have used 2D shapes to make spring pictures. In the outdoor area we have been using tongs to find 'worms' just like the birds who find food for their new young. (don't worry, it's only wool!) We have also been saving the minibeast toys that fell into the water tray, using seives and other cutlery. We have begun to share stories about Easter and the children are beginning to link the idea of new life with the story of Jesus coming back to life. The children are becoming excited about the prospect of Easter, particularly the giving and receiving of gifts and chocolate eggs!
