'The Enormous Turnip'

The children have really enjoyed being creative this week, making seed packets complete with their very own seeds. The balance scales have been out this week so that the children can investigate and find out which vegetables were the heaviest. Sadly our turnips were not enormous, the large potatoes were found to be the heaviest of all! The enormous turnip story has been retold using a wide range of props this week, both indoors and outdoors. The children have heard a range of versions and they have been very creative with their own. In maths this week we have used our knowledge of the story to help us with ordinal numbers, and in our role play we have talked about the importance of sharing and taking it in turns to be first.
