Branches

Bark covers the trees,
Rain waters the forest,
Autumn glows in colours,
Nuts fall for the squirrels,
Colourful leaves scatter on the ground,
Hedgehogs hibernate in cosy holes,
Everywhere is nearer to winter,
Sharp branches scratch your legs.

My Journey Through This Magical Forest

Walking through this magical forest I feel happy and calm. All I can hear are the birds humming, no car engines or people chattering. The beautiful sound of the river swishing down the stream makes me feel like Christmas has came early. When I walk down the path I can smell the summer air and the trees. What can you smell?

The sun beaming through the trees onto the
forest floor looks like shimmering puddles of light. I can see the leaves falling off the trees only in Autumn as the wind whirls around them. I love touching the bark of the trees because they have been in the wind and rain although some rocks are really comfortable as I sit on them thinking.

When I walk across the stepping stones all my senses tingle with delight and it feels like they are having a party inside me.
