Computer Prices
Given the combined effects of the 'Credit Crunch' and rising fuel prices it seems inevitable that some prices will rise. This has been most noticeable in the past 6 months with the price of computers. Price rises of about 10%-12% seem to be the norm.

So far there have not been the same price rises for monitors or printers and strangely the price of servers has remained fairly constant.

In order to provide computers at affordable prices we have negotiated a special deal with Fujitsu-Siemens specifically for educational customers.

The Esprimo E5625 computer has an Athlon X2 4450e processor, 1gb of DDR2 memory, an 80gb hard drive, a DVD ROM drive and a 3 year on-site warranty.

The operating system is Windows Vista Business which has downgrade rights to Windows XP Pro.

The cost of a single system is £350 but prices drop significantly for multiple purchases. The cost for 5 is £339 each and for 10 is £336 each. These computers are only available from Lexicon Lifeline but are not available from stock. The lead time from order to delivery is about 2 weeks.

The full price list is available here.

Just 2 Easy news

The online storage facility - just2store - has had considerable developments over the past few months. This enables any type of file (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Textease) to be stored online and accessed through any computer using your j2e logon.

Files can now be double clicked to load and when saved will automatically be saved back to the online store. They can be shared with other people and password protected as well as having a link - that's how the price lists in this newsletter work.

Another exciting new feature is jigsaws - click here for a demonstration.

All Lifeline schools have free use of j2e for 2008. For more details see previous newsletters or contact Martin (martin@lexiconlifeline.co.uk)

5 Year Warranty on servers
This is an ideal time to purchase a new server as Fujitsu-Siemens are offering a free upgrade to a 5 year warranty on their TX range of servers. To obtain this upgrade a claim accompanied by a copy of the invoice has to be sent to Fujitsu-Siemens within 21 days of the invoice date.

We apologise for the absence of the summer edition. Rather like the summer weather, it just didn't happen.
