Hide'n'Show. The aim of the activity is to encourage children to talk about the pictures they see. Click on two of the rectangles above to show the images hidden underneath. Click on the white space to remove the blue editing tools that are visible on the picture (resize / rotate etc).
How are the pictures similar?
How are they different?
What sound does the word start with?
What can you tell me about each of the pictures?
Hide the pictures by clicking on them and select another two rectangles to reveal the pictures hidden underneath. By talking about the pictures children should be able to choose pairs of pictures that 'match' into named groups, depending on the knowledge of the children e.g.
farm animals
wild animals
insects
primates
fruit
plants
flying creatures etc.
To create an activity of your own.
Save the page as another name.
Use CTRL A to select everything on the page. This will select all the items on that page apart from the green and blue rectangles as these have been locked to the page. Press delete - this will delete all of the pictures.
Now add your own pictures and resize them to fit over the blue / green rectangles.
Use CTRL A again to select all the pictures and use the bottom layer button on the bottom right of the screen to put the pictures behind the green / blue rectangles. Click on any pictures that are not hidden. Save when all the pictures are hidden.
