Sandfield Close is a happy, diverse, welcoming school with a real sense of community. Our 400+ children are polite, well-behaved and keen to come to school. Our staff are hard-working and enthusiastic. We encourage our children to work hard and make the most of their learning opportunities but we also know that fun and excitement are important. The children tell us that they enjoy coming to school and the sound of laughter can often be heard in our school.
Through access to the National Curriculum and other relevant experiences, we aim to help children develop lively, enquiring and creative minds, the confidence to question and the ability to debate rationally.
Children should acquire knowledge and skills, which will fit them to take a full an active part in further stages of education, adult life, employment and leisure in a rapidly changing world.
We expect children to respect other people's right to religious and moral viewpoints and to attempt to understand different ways of life.
Hard work, self-discipline and a commitment to school life are required of all children, so that they are able to make a positive contribution and fulfil their potential.
We strive to enable children to develop their independence and individuality and to recognise their own particular strengths and limitations, setting themselves goals accordingly.
Learning to live together is an important aspect of school life and children should acquire necessary social skills, enabling them to feel at ease and able to respond appropriately in new and diverse situations.
The school considers each person to be of equal importance and worth; we expect children to adopt the same attitude.
Arriving at school on time smartly dressed in school uniform and properly prepared for the day shows that a child is ready to make the most of what the school has to offer.
