Governing Body
The school has a governing body, which has a wide range of duties and responsibilities. Governing bodies are made up of representatives from the Local Authority, the school staff, parents and the local community. Our governing body meets in full once a term to consider the reports of the Headteacher, as well as a report from the Director of Children's Services and Lifelong Learning. Much of the work of the Governing Body is delegated to smaller committees, which meet once a term.
Our governors are very supportive and interested in the welfare and education of the children. They are kept fully informed of all aspects of school life, including the curriculum. They are also involved in the appointment of staff to the school. From time to time, elections are held for parent representatives. The term of office is four years. Any parent who is interested, and would be willing to serve on the governing body is invited to contact the Headteacher for more information.
