ICT Vision
Wider Aims
We believe ICT is equipping learners for their future working lives.
E-Learning at VictoriaJuniorSchool endeavours to create active 21st century learners with the experiences and ICT skills that they will use in a rapidly changing technological world.
Learners in our environment will be confident and independent with their use of ICT
Raising Attainment through Teaching and Learning
We see ICT as a tool which supports and enhances the quality of teaching and learning.
We want learners to develop the skills to confidently and competently use ICT across the curriculum. As learners' confidence grows they will be able to make informed and discerning choices about their use of ICT.
ICT should be integral to school life. We want to embed ICT fully across the curriculum as a tool, with learners using it as naturally as any other classroom resource.
ICT should make it possible for us to reduce our workload, enabling us to work more efficiently and enhance and support our teaching.
We will enable our children and staff to learn about ICT, learn an increasing range of ICT skills and learn how to use them in a range of subjects. We will enable them to become thoughtful and independent users of ICT. We will develop in them other important learning skills such as enquiry skills and thinking skills.
We will develop learners' skills to use ICT as an exciting, engaging and creative medium for expression.
Personalisation
ICT caters for learners' individual needs. It will be used to support individual learning styles and each learners' own need.
Community
We want to develop our community links through sharing our resources with the wider community.
We want our website to be relevant and an invaluable resource for the school community.
We want to extend opportunities for learning through home school links and community development. We will improve communications with parents and the wider community including our global partnerships to create an ethos of trust and partnership in learning. We will offer opportunities for adults and children to learn outside the taught day through our extended schools agenda.
Management Information Systems
We want to further improve the efficiency of School Administration tasks and communication with parents.
Resources
We want a high quality, reliable ICT resource infrastructure available for all with robust and clear technical support.
CPD
Continuing Professional Development of the staff is paramount to success and positive promotion of ICT in school.
We will increase teachers ICT skills and confidence through a planned professional development programme which encompasses individual development needs and the school's strategic development needs in ICT.
New and Innovative Practice
We will encourage risk-taking and innovation, share good practice and create new practice.
National Policy Development
All our practice is in line with National Policy Development.
