Summary: Stig of the dump is a classic story written by Clive King and illustrated by Edward Ardizzone. It is about a boy,called barney and a caveman, called stig. Barney discovers a chalk pit that everyone says no to go in but of course barney does the opposite. In the old,,chalky cave he finds a caveman,yes a caveman called stig. They soon become great friends. When there was a problem stig was always there to help barney. Some people don't believe barney at first but they soon realized there was more to it than barneys imagination.

Summary of characters:

Stig: He is a caveman who always seems to

save the day!

Barney: He finds stig in a chalk pit and ever since stig has always been by his side.

Lou: She loves to ride and hunt but she does not believe barney has met a caveman at first.

Gran: The kids stay over at grans in the holidays and gran is not to sure if stig is real as well.
