Tudor homes
The Tudor period was the time when the Tudor family came to the throne. Henry the VIII was the most famous Tudor king.
You can see many Tudor houses in England today. Some of them are over 500 years old!
Tudor houses are mostly black and white. They had a black wood frame with white clay in between.
They also had tall chimneys because there was a fireplace inside to heat the house.
Most of the houses had thatched roofs but the rich people had tiles on the roof.
Houses didn't have a toilet so they had to use a bucket and throw it outside.
Glass was expensive so only the rich people had windows and they would take the windows with them when they moved house.
Furniture inside was big and heavy and it was made of wood. People sat on benches.
