Welcome back after the Summer holidays! We hope your children are excited to be back in their new class and eager to learn!

Our topic for the first part of this term is...Terrific Tales.

To make your children's learning fun and enjoyable, we have included them in the planning.

Our topic will include...

*Learning Fairy tales/traditional stories

*Role play areas linked to stories

*Story writing

*Reading the Jolly Postman (a book which includes a variety of fairy tale characters)

*Creating maps and instructions of the postman's journey

*Letter writing

*Postage stamp silhouettes

*Thinking about consequences of our actions

*ICT- using directions to get the Three Little Pigs home

*Science- Pushes and pulls/Materials

Reading: The children will all have a reading record and reading book to bring home. Once children have read the book with you, please could you sign the record. The children will be given a specific day to return their book on. If you could ensure the books are returned on those days this would be great. They will receive a new book once the last has been returned.

Spelling:The children will receive weekly spellings for them to learn and practise at home.

Topic: The children have enjoyed the 'menu' style homework where there is a choice of activities. This will be given out once every half term and will be due in at the end of that half term. Please ensure you support your child in their homework tasks as it will have a positive impact on their learning.

Class Essentials!

2. Please ensure your child has a water bottle in class with their name clearly marked

We would like to invite any parents who could spare some time to 'Come and Play' on a Tuesday between 9.00 and 10.30 to help listen to children read and support groups. We would be grateful for any help you could give us. Please come and let us know in advance if you can help out.

Thank you as always for your tremendous support.
