Twinkle, Twinkle

The children have not only been very busy rehearsing for our 'Uncle Sam' nativity, they have been learning about night time and day time animals and singing 'Twinkle, Twinkle'. Together we read the very noisy, 'Goodnight Owl' and the children eagerly joined in with all the sounds that the animals were making, even though poor old owl couldn't sleep. We talked about the meaning of the word nocturnal and some of the children suggested other animals that come out at night. The discussion about owl's behaviour at the end of the story was interesting with some children thinking it was good that owl woke all the other animals up, whilst some children said that he didn't need to and that it was mean. We are really looking forward to performing our nativity next week in our costumes, we hope you enjoy it too!

The countdown has begun!
