The missing Portrait

The manager of a HistoryMuseum was looking around to make sure everything was OK and nothing was broken or anything like that, but then, he noticed that something terrible had happened! Where there was Supposed to be a really important Portrait of Henry VIII, there was smashed glass! Also, the Portrait had disappeared! Who had done it? It looked like a Job for the nearest Detective, David Dyson, he was a rather young Detective, and he was only 17 actually! He had very dark hair and dark blue eyes.

The next morning, the manager of the Museum got on the phone to David Dyson, and he told him all about the missing Portrait. David told the manager that he would come over to his house and discuss it with him at 12:00 PM. When he did come over, they both went to the Museum; the Museum wasn’t open on that day because of the missing Portrait. David showed the manager the Security Camera footage from the last night. David held down the fast forward button until he saw someone there, he was wearing a Black suit just like most Robbers probably would wear, they saw him getting a hammer and smashing the glass, next some of it got stuck in, so he nudged it with his hand to get it out, and he took the Portrait. But just before he left, he smashed the security Camera up with the same hammer as he used to smash the glass that the Portrait was behind! That of course was the end of the footage. David told the manager that if he would have put his hand on some of the glass, then they could just scan the glass with the scanner that Henry had brought with him, and when David got home he could plug the scanner into his Computer and find out some extremely specific details about the hand print. That was exactly what they did.

The next day, they met up again and David told the manager of the history Museum that his computer had actually crashed and showed the Blue Screen of death yesterday, so he couldn’t analyze the hand print, and it was because the file C:WindowsSystem32Win.com was missing, and that ment that he had to reinstall Microsoft Windows on his Computer. “Also, it could take a few Weeks to get my Computer back to its original state“he told the manager. What they had to do was install the Software and Drivers for analyzing hand prints on the manager’s Computer, so that is what they did. Once it was installed they analysed the hand print on the manager’s Computer and it couldn’t recognise it. They thought it might be because the Burglar was wearing gloves when he touched the glass.

The next day, they both went on a walk together to discuss who the Suspects were, when they were half way through there walk, they came across a man who looked extremely suspicious, they had printed out the hand print from the manager’s

Computer, they held it up and Compared it with the other person’s hand, but they couldn’t tell whether there was any difference between the two hands or not. Just in case if the two handprints were related, they scanned the persons hand with the Scanner and tried to use the manager’s Computer to compare the two handprints, but coincidently, the managers Computer was Broken too now! But it was a different error, this time the file C:WindowsSystem.ini was missing! They both felt so suspicious now, so suspicious in fact, that they decided to go and take another look at the Security Camera footage. That time, they looked really close at the screens with super high concentration! That time, they noticed another person who took the glass out of the way for him who was hiding just behind him. So it turned out that the handprint that they had wasn’t actually the handprint of the Robber himself!

That night wasn’t a very good night, both David and the manager couldn’t figure out who had Committed the Crime, and they couldn’t figure out why both of their Computers Broke at roughly the same time. The next day, they came up with the idea of looking at the Security Camera footage for the main Computer of the Museum which was the Computer the manager used (not that he lived in the Museum). They took a look and they saw somebody go onto there computer, open the MS-DOS command prompt, go into the Windows Directory and type in “del SYSTEM” and the del means delete. The person who did it looked like the same person who had stolen the Portrait of Henry VIII. All they needed to do now was find out who that person was.

Things seemed to constantly be getting better, David had reinstalled Microsoft Windows on his Computer and took all of the data from his Backup drive and put it on his hard drive. The manager had had his Computer repaired as well. They went round trying to find more Suspects, and they saw a person wearing a black suit who immediately ran away from them, they tried to chase after him and the manager of the Museum fell over, David carried on running. They came towards a flat and hard wall, the Criminal was doomed! David ran towards him and the Criminal got out a gun! He told Henry that if he didn’t turn back and pretend that the whole thing had never happened, David would be shot! He refused, and ran away in the other direction, the Criminal chased after him. David snatched the Criminal’s Gun and dropped it on purpose. The Criminal tripped over his Gun, and David ran at the same time as getting his Mobile phone out so that he could call the Police. He rang 999 and The Police were on their way. The Criminal ran away while David helped The Manager up. They both ran over to the Police car which had just arrived and they directed the Police forward. It had turned out that The Criminal had accidentally run in the wrong direction! He had run towards The Police car! The Police managed to get him under control, they drove him off to the Police station and took his hand print, his hand Print was exactly identical to the one that David had scanned from the glass! He was definitely the Criminal. The Police put a sign up in a lot of places asking where he lived. When they found out, they took the Portrait of Henry VIII back to the Museum and repaired the smashed glass. Finally, the Criminal was put in Prison.
