What is Tundra?
Tundra is a very cold and dry landscape that can be found mostly around the artic circle but can also be found near Antarctica and on high mountains. Snow covers the ground for 9 months and plants cannot grow. It is very windy in Tundra because there is nothing to block the wind. the conditions are so harsh only a few animals live there every year.
About Brown Bear
Did you know Brown Bears eat almost up to 90 pounds of food everyday?! The Brown Bear can be found in the Tundra regions of Alaska, Canada and parts of Russia. They grow up to 5-8 feet and they weigh 700 pounds. The scientific name of the Brown Bear is Ursus Arcotos. Brown Bears live up to 25 years on average and most of them are vegetarian. When winter approaches, Brown Bears get ready for a long winter sleep.
About Mountain Hare
The Mountain Hare grows a whitecoat in winter and this
makes it hard to see against the snow. It has well-
developed claws that helps it to dig through the snow
to find food.
