Do you wish you had a big family to keep you company when your parents are at work? Then you'll understand the little boy in this story.
This is fiction picture book, with great watercolour illustrations which reflect the mood of the story.

This book is about a little boy who finds himself alone after school, whilst mum is at work. His mum tells him that if he is not good she will take him to Mrs Cole. Mrs Cole lives in a rather dark, messy house down the road. The boy believes Mrs Cole must be quite evil, probably keeping her children in a dungeon or whipping them to do the chores all day. However he discovers the real truth about Mrs Cole the day he runs away from home!

My favourite part is when the boy enters Mrs Cole's home, and is shocked about how many children there are and how relaxed life seems to be at her place. I like this part becasuse it shows how it is never good to judge people by their appearance.

I would recommend this book to any child who thinks they know their neighbours. Any child would love this book, if they enjoy stories, especially those with a twist.

I would give this book 10 out of 10.
