Week 3-Enterprise
In class we discussed what the word enterprise ment. The word means identifying gaps in market which means for an example there was no Nandos in the High Street but now there is so that is a gap in a market enterprise also means assessing risk so what risk you could get if you opened your own business.Plus it means getting finance from your bank and you would have to persuade people to buy your products.
WE also talked about civil services jobs in the UK such as the police, fire brigade the people who pick up the litter from the ground. So civil servant is basically someone who works for the government.Even a governor is a civil. servant
Our class read the next part of the of NOTENUF and so it was about families that grow crops for them but different families wanted different things but somehow they could not get it so they started to trade things like seeds for food packs.
We had a busy day that day because Mrs Cranfield came in and taught us about her previous job which was about human resources .After her talk about what her role was in that company she had four sheets that she put on the board which had people's name on each sheet and under that all there details like how old they are what their hobbies were and all how much they want for their payment. On the opposite side there were some jobs that had how much they would pay plus what the business was about. Therefore are job was to watch each person with there right type of job like there was a lady who wanted to take her dogs for a walk but she did not have time so she wanted someone who could take her dogs for walk and there was someone who would do anything in his free time and also the man only wanted a small amount of money plus that lady was giving at least £10 £15 so those would be together.
After that 20 min work we did a mini questionnaire test to see our suitability to run our own business work or we would have to work for someone as an employee. There were questions like do you keep your desk clean and organized also thing like if your friends were in a fight would you be able to see from both perspectives.Mr Torres said choose A.B or C.The A would be always.Which would give you 5 point but we were told that at the end of the test .The B would be some times. Which would give you 2 points .Last but not least C would be never and that gave you 0 point.I got 31 points in total which was actually quite good because our teacher said if you got from 30 to 40 points then you can own your own business and that made me quite happy only 2 or 3 people got it.He also said if you got from 20 to 30 you can nearly own a business but you would have to work on that and for the people who got less then that would have to work for someone.
How many points did you get?
