WALT to use the past tense in a recount.
Dear Diary,
Yesterday, as soon as I was dressed, we went to church
before we started our day.
First, Mother taught me how look after a house and a
family.
Next, my tutor taught me maths, latin and religion. Mother
said I am very lucky to have a tutor, but the lessons can
be very boring.
After that, my mother taught me how to prepare for a
feast.
Then, I learned sewing and embroidery. I pricked my finger
and it bled.
Eventually, I was allowed to take a walk in the garden,
even though I had to take a servant with me. I saw my
father and my brother playing lawn bowls. We love sports,
so I asked to join in.
Finally, it was time to eat. Lots of people had been invited
to the feast. A jester entertained us all with songs and
jokes. It was fun, but I was tired and glad to go to bed.
