Scarcity

Year 5
This week ,in micro society, we have been learning about scarcity. We started our lesson off with a story about the planet Justenuf.
It was controlled by a robot that had just enough of everything to give to people .One day it broke down and nobody knew what to do. We talked about how the people should share the food that was left .Then we talked about things that people want and things that people needed, for example those people needed food but they might have wanted something much better.
We discussed that simply wanting a McDonalds would mean that you would need staff, ovens, cooks who knew how to make food and tills as well as loads more.
We also thought about making our own country, as a class, and naming it. Scarcity is in many places for many different things such as for food, money, homes and fresh air.
I had lots of fun learning about scarcity and making my own flag to represent my country.
