EDUCATION IN JAPAN
Japan is a land of surprises with its unique customs,food specialties,amazing network and numerous high tech inventions.On top of that, there are a few aspects about Japanese school that may be very surprising.
Teachers do not send students out of the classroom!
In many countries outside of Japan,sending misbehaving students out of the classroom is standard practice. However,it is a big NO in Japan schools.They think that all people should have the right to receive equal education and because of this Japanese teachers do not dare to send students out of the classroom.
Everyone eats the same meal for lunch and students serve it!One very surprising fact about Japanese public schools is that everyone eats the same meal. Unlike in many other countries,students are able to pick and choose between buying their lunch at a cafeteria or bringing their own lunch boxes.In Japan students are trained to eat the same kind of meal (regardless of their preference) and finish at the right time. After lunch,students are also responsible for cleaning up and returning meal containers.
Students and teachers ea together in the classroom!
Students eat in the classroom on their desks.However,in Japan classrooms are not only used for learning but to enjoy lunch as well.Only a few Elementary schools have cafeterias.
