MICROSOCIETY!

This week in Microsociety we have been learning about enterprise and civil servants. A civil servant is someone who has a job which involves helping others. An example of a civil servant is a teacher, a doctor, a fireman or policeman. Then Mr Woods told us that we had to choose civil servants that would be right for our society. He also told us that he wouldn't like anyone to be a doctor or anything like that because he wouldn't want Tom trying to fix his broken leg when he didn't have any medical training.

We chose which civil servants we needed (two policeman, a president, a judge, a tax inspector, an import officer, a banker and a bank clerk). Now we had to decide who should be what so we did a vote. I decided to be a candidate for president along with 7 others but when Mr Woods told us that if you applied for a job and you don't get it then you will not have a job apart from your own business. After a tense wait, we were told who was the president and it was...ME! I know how you're feeling and let me tell you it felt incredible. I even got 10 votes!

Then we chose who our judge was. With an incredible 20 votes, it was...Tom. Next, it was the turn of the policemen. Henry was definitely through so he was a policeman but now it was between Aaravan and Marcelina who both got 5 votes each. Amazingly, Marcelina won 16 votes to 13. She was less popular than Aaravan so it was a miracle she won. Anyway, next we decided who was the banker and his clerk. Stewart won over Katie so he was banker and the vote was really close between Aaravan and Sonny but Sonny won with 3 votes compared to just two. For the tax inspector and import officer (which was combined into one job), Vashni became it when people voted her in. We all formed the government and decided what everyone can and can't do.

This week was my favourite week because we learnt a lot but mainly because I was made president. Anyway, I have a question for you. Have you heard anyone saying "Down with the president!" or "Sack the president!"? If you have PLEASE comment below and tell me exactly who it was and which president they wanted to kill.
