Challenge
05.10.2018
The learning theme next week will be ‘Secondary Colours’.
For the challenge this week we would like your child to find out about the different varieties of apples that there are. This could be through a visit to the local supermarket, greengrocers or farmer’s market. Please encourage your child to look at the colours of the apple skins and find out about the names that they have. We will be talking about the apples we have found out about in a circle time next week. Please also find out about fruit and vegetables that are purple. Do let us know what your child finds out by commenting on the challenge below.
The children will explore how to make the colours purple and green by mixing the primary colours. The children will be using the green paint that they mix to make leaves using different techniques. In maths the children in Foundation 2 will be using the language of more or less and comparing two sets of apples.
In Foundation 1 the children will be exploring how to arrange shapes to make pictures and talking about why the shapes we have chosen are good. All of this will of course be in addition to many other exciting activities! Please do take a look at the Foundation Blog to see just how much fun we are having.
We can confirm that the fun filled bonfire themed Stay and Play will take place on: Wednesday 7th November11:00-12:00pm for Foundation 1 and 2.30pm-3.30 pm for Foundation 2.
