Microsociety Journal Week 1
This week in school i have been learning about microsociety . Microsociety is a small self contained community by its own traditional rules.First my teacher read a story and said try to figure out what is scarcity. As she was reading the story the story was about a planet called just enough and just enough had loads of food until one day the machine that provided all the food wasn't working. The planet changed from just enough to not enough. Loads of people decided to share the last food packets, some people needed food packet and other's wanted different food packets. We then discussed some ways to share the food packets. My idea was that they could share half a food packet every day. Then another question was what is the difference with what you need and what you want? I thought the difference was something you need is more important but something you want. that The last question was what is one word that means you want i tor if you need it? That word is scarcity.
Then in our table groups we had to decide on a flag and a name that everyone agrees on for my class society . My table group came up with a flag that has the union j flag on it and stripes and stars. The name my table decided on was the spinner, loads of other table flags and names were amazing but in the end we had a silent vote to see which flag and name the class liked best. The most voted was one table group flag and one table groups name called menstropolis to represent are Mensa society. The next thing we had to do is makes shapes with the resources that were given to us but we were only aloud to use the resources that the teacher given to us NOTHING ELSE .We started off with two scissors ,one compass , one ruler two pencils ,and five counters (which gives ,my table extra 15 points)and no paper but we had to make the shapes with paper . Then one of my table members realised that we can trade with other tables for paper and then are shapes turned out really good .The table which had the most perfect shapes checked by a teacher got 5 points. My table ended up in second place with 35 points the table that got first got 61 points. Then it was end of microsociety . I can not wait for next week xx
