Microsociety- More Enterprise
This week in Microsociety Year 5 have started their businesses. But before they could get their businesses into simulation, Rigel class (Rigopolis) had to look at the importance of reciepts and their features. It was decided by President Shiromi that any business that failed to produce a reciept would possibly be fined or the owner would be sent to prison. Each business was given two free sheets of paper to start their reciept books with. After sorting out the reciepts the residents of Rigopolis were free to start their businesses. To make sure no one was breaking the law set by the government (President, Judge, Tax inspecter/import officer, Banker, Bank clerk), the police officers were sent on patrol. Anyone using paper, sharpeners, rulers, whiteboards etc... were charged. Some businesses were booming others not so much but it is safe to say everyone was earning enough money to satisfy themselves. Some people decided to spend their money on renting desks; others saved up for different things. But of course in every society tax must be paid so eveybody who earned money had to pay 10 percent of their weekly earnings. To help with their learning, each class had two visitors who talked about their jobs. Jake's mum came in and told us about the BBC where she works and what they do. Lily's mum works at Human Resources and she told us about what she does. Next week, Year 5 will start running their businesses and employing people if they get to big to manage...
