La Belle Sauvage
La Belle Sauvage, meaning The beautiful wild, is the first volume of The Book of Dust and it's a equel to The Amber Spyglass. I like the book because it's interesting and you can never put the book down. The book is also full of adventure and mystery so it's guaranteed you won't get bored while you are reading it
The most interesting part in the book is when Bonneville takes Alice and you don't know if they're going to survive or if Bonneville is going to kill them
The book is about a boy, Malcolm Polstead, who lives with his parents in an inn near the Thames. It's also about a baby called Lyra who lives with the nuns. There's a prophecy made by the witches and they also made a prophecy about Malcolm bringing Lyra to safety. A while after that Malcolm meets a woman, that studies The History of Ideas, by the name Dr Hannah Relf. Malcolm and Dr Relf become friends and they discuss many thing in their meetings. Some time later there is a flood, Malcolm and Alice, a girl who works part-time in his dad's inn, rescue Lyra from Bonneville and the flood. After they rescue Lyra from the flood they try to take her to Jordan college however the flood's current doesn't allow them. Without a choice the take Lyra to her father in Chelsea and they meet Bonneville many times on their journey until they finally kill him. The CCD is also on their back the whole time. At the end of the book Lyra is put into scholastic sanctuary.
My favorite character is Lord
Asriel because unlike Marisa
Coulter he actually cares
about his daughter's welfare.
Unlike Mrs Coulter, he cares
about his daughter because
she's his daughter and not
because there is a prophecy
about her
Dust-
In Pullman's books 'Dust' are elementary particles associated with consciousness
