Week 2- Currency

This week in microsociety we were learning about currency. We started designing a note for our society. We also voted on a name for our society. The winner was Alpha Centauri. On our tables, we had a list of things that we had to put in order of most valuble things to the least vauable things. In the list there were things like a cow, shells ,gold bars and diamonds. On Wednesday, people brought in sets of monopoly and we all got a chance to play in groups. My group played with Miss Bonds set. There was 8 of us playing with no instructions- it was slightly hectic! When the game ended, we all came together as a class to talk about the game we had just played. My thoughts were that you had to do an even amount of buying and saving with your money, because if you bought a lot and didn't save your money the game would end. However, if you saved all your money and didn't buy anything, you would just end up paying other people to rent their houses. You would lose all your money either way so that is why I tried to do a bit of both!
