Currency

Week 2

Micro society

Currency

According to Oxford Dictionary, currency is a system of money in general use in a particular country. This is what I was learning about.

To start the week off, we all played a game of monopoly. This taught us what we should do with our money and how to spend it on the right things. We all came to situations where we could buy lots of property or move on. For example, I could either buy the city or carry on. This was a great start to the week as it already got us thinking.

On Friday, we were allowed to bring some foreign money to share with our class.

I got to see some amazing

different money from countries

like Norway, Sri Lanka and

America. Then we talked about

what was common about them such as the currency name, when the money was made, a famous person or monument, how much it was worth and the country name.

We also made our own money. Sadly, my money didn't win on my table. Then we had to vote on which we liked the most. In the end, we had our money as a mixture of all the currency.

I really enjoyed Micro Society this week and I can't wait for next week.
