MICROSOCIETY - Government

This week in Microsociety, Year 5 have been learning about democracy and what it means. Democracy is when everybody has a fair say in what happens to their country. To help us understand more about democracy Rigel class read a story called Notenuf. In the story, the leader decided that the country Notenuf needed a new leader but the citizens didn't know who to elect. Rigel talked about this matter and decided that the best way to chose a leader was to have a vote. After talking about the story, Rigel were allowed to start getting their businesses into simulation. People were allowed to start using money to buy items. Unfortunately, Rigopolis' police officer quit so their was another vote for a new officer. In the end, Sara won so she became a police officer with Marcelina. President Shiromi also decided to fire our bank clerk but their was not time for another vote so Stewart ( the banker) had to manage the bank. Many businesses are going well so most people are making money and being able to pay their taxes but I wonder how long that will last...
