Micro-society

Week 1

Scarcity

Thursday 20 April 2017

According to Google , scarcity means being in short supply of something. After we discussed the meaning of scarcity, Mr Torres read us a story titled justenuf. On this planet, people had just enough of everything. However, there was something controlling this planet, it was a super computer. The computer was looking after the people but the people were not looking after the computer at all. One day, the computer broke down and justenuf became notenuf. I really enjoyed the story and am looking foward to listening to another one

Later that afternoon, Mr Torres kindly asked us to all create a flag witch would represent our country. Unfortunately, my flag didn't win on my table but one person from each table won. We then decided to have a running race and who ever won had their table's flag flag as the winner.I was representing my table as i am one of the fastest runner in the class. Sadly, I didn't win but my buddy, Patrick won as he is the fastest in the class. They then created a bigger version of the flag and laminated it so every micro-society lesson we do, we can hang the flag. We also came up with country names and as Patrick won the race, his name got chosen. The name was U.S.S- United States Of Scorpiopia.

In the second lesson of micro-society, we had a competition were Mr Torres asked us to gain as much points as you can. These are the things to had to do: counter-5 points, 10 by 10 cm square-5 points and a 10 cm diameter circle was for 10 points. Each group got different things such as a compass, a ruler, paper, a pencil and scissors. Sadly, we were last place as we only had 10 sheets of paper.
