New class for Year 6 blog – 06.07.2021

My time in Year 5 is rapidly coming to an end and soon I will be in Year 6. I am really

devastated to leave Miss Albury and Mrs Airth, since they have both been amazing teachers helping me with my confidence.

In Year 6 I am looking forward to being a buddy to a Year 3 pupil and supporting them with

their reading journey. I remember when I joined Burlington Junior School in Year 3, I had a buddy that helped me with my reading, and it was very helpful. It was a good way of making friends with my buddy’s class and providing the younger pupils with some additional support. Also, as a Year 6 student, we will have the additional responsibility to represent our school, being responsible role models to the younger children. One thing I am particularly excited about Year 6 is going on school trips, especially after the difficult year we have had with the pandemic, we all need a break, even the teachers! I am hoping the Year 6 teachers have got some amusing schools trips planned for us!

This year is no different from any other year; before moving up to the next school year,

I start to feel a little anxious because I do not know what to expect. So, I would like

Miss. Edwards to know that after a few weeks into the term, I feel more comfortable. I cannot wait to start my new adventure into a different year group. The only questions I have are: how many times a week do we to get to read with our buddies and what school trips will there be?
