Week 2

Currency

According to google, currency means a system of general use in a particular country. In the first lesson of week two, we first read notenuf and how the people all got the same size of land and seeds and they began to grow them. However, two groups got together and one person from one group said " Hmm, so beans are healthy but i have sweet fruit, i will give you 10 seeds and a nutribag for 10 bean seeds,"

"I do love sweet fruits, fine it's a deal,"replied one person from the other group. They began trading but not only trading nutribags, trading seeds to. Seeds began to get popular until it was basically a currency for notenuf. That was the end of the story. After reading the story, we all began to play monopoly and whoever had the most money at the end of the game, would win. Rayhanna won in our team as she had the most hotels and the most expensive ones to.

In the second lesson of week 2, Mr Torres asked us to bring in foreign money so we can look at them and discuss what we should have in our own money. I brought in 10 euros. then we discussed what we should have in our money. After that, MR Torres let us go around the class and look at different people's money. Then we discussed the differences and similarities between all of the money. Also, we discussed that different objects such as shells, cows, diamonds, coins can all be used as different currencies.
