Out at sea
It was a sunny hot Tuesday last September. I was going to a boat party all alone in the Mediterranean ocean. I started packing my stuff and I was so excited to see all the sea animals. In no time I was at the place and took my first step on the boat.
It seemed really unstable and I took caution steps until I reached the top. All the people were happy so I didn't mind the unstable boat. Found a seat and started snacking on some crisps. When I was full I saw all the sea animals I was hoping for in the crystal blue water as I smelled the salt in the water and put my hand in the ocean as we moved along. I started reading a book in silence and got so carried away that I didn't know that the weather became cooler and the waves grew bigger. Then I was alarmed when the waves threw the boat everywhere. I let the book fall from my hands with fear and I rushed to the captain's room. I opened the door with anger and started shouting with the captain telling him that it was a bad idea to organise a boat party in day like this! I got out of the room and saw that the boat was already sinking and tilting so I tore a piece of wood and jumped with it in the water just in time for the boat to collapse in the opposite direction. I swallowed the water but I managed to climb up the raft. There was no hope in other people surviving and water became red with the blood. There was no need calling because my phone was already surely not working but I tried and it still worked! I called for help and helicopters came to save me. I was taken to major help operators and taken back to Malta at my house.
I was safe and sound but terrified to see the ocean again. I learnt never to give up and I need to always take care of myself when needed.
