Giant Pandas

Diet


Giant pandas eat Bamboo shoots, leaves, fruits, vegetables and sometimes small animals. But Bamboo shoots and leaves are 90% of their diet and they spend 12 hours a day eating.


Appearance


They have black and white fur and they are very fat from eating. They weigh about 200-300 pounds.

Habitat

Giant pandas live in bamboo forests in Central China. They also live in misty forests and snowy mountains.


Why are giant pandas endangered?


Giant pandas are in danger of coming extinct. Today, there are around 1864 pandas in the wild and 100 in the wild. They face a number of threats such as poachers and human developments.
