In Japan,elementary school lasts for 6 years,then it's 3 years of junior high school,next it is senior high school which lasts for 3 years again,finally it is university which lasts for 4 years.

Elementary school-age from 7 to 12

Junior high school-age from 13 to 15

Senior high school-age from 16 to 18

University-age from 19 to 22

The school year begins in April.The first term begins,when the school holidays[vacation]begins.

Kids return to school in the early September for the second term,which lasts until December 25th.
