oystermouth castle
Oystermouth castle was built by the Normans, over looking Swansea bay. Near Mumbles where my great nan lives. Oystermouth castle was built in the 12th century and in use 1106 to 16 50. In the middle ages it fell to ruins it has been restored by George Grant Frances in 1840 and the castle was owned by duke of Beufort until 1927. The city and county of Swansea council now are responsible for Oystermouth castle national assembly for Wales gave 1 million pound to help fix the castle for visitors. We visited in 2013 last. It was on a steep hill and built from stone. Has high walls and must have been really easy to see enemies who tried to invade. My nannie can see this castle from her window at home.
