What I already know

1. The Romans created central heating
2. The Romans created roads
3. The Romans had many shield formations like the turtle
4. Most Roman Shields were red
5. Shields were also rectangular and had curved edges
6. The Roman army were split into groups of eight
7. Only men were aloud

what I want to know

1. How many people were in the Roman army?
2. Why were they split into groups?
3. What food did they eat?
4. Were their chariots large?
5. Why were only men aloud to join the army?
