Hamlet, good or bad?

By Aidan

Some people think that, because Hamlet murdered poor Polonius, he is a very evil man. Most people think this because they do not actually know the whole story about King Hamlet's death and Hamlet going on a hunt for revenge. No one knows that Hamlet is doing this because a ghost of his own father told him to. Or that he is searching to kill Claudius, who poured poison into the king's ear, so he could be king. The only person who knew was Hamlet. He went off on a journey and, when he was talking with his mother, he heard the words "Help the queen". He thought it was Claudius, so that meant he stabbed the curtain and Polonius died. Some people think that killing is always bad.

Bad.

😡

Good.

😃

On the other hand others feel sorry for Hamlet, because of his father's death and how upset he might be. The reason these people do not think Hamlet's murder was terrible is because they understand the reasons for the way he behaves. They feel that Claudius had no reason to murder king Hamlet. How would you like it if your father was killed? He was probably heart-broken and furious when he found out. We know he is a loving man, because of how sad he was when Ophelia died.

My point of view.

I think that Hamlet had a good heart, but had a hard life. You can't describe him as a perfect person, but you can't say he is all bad either. He took the wrong path by killing.
