This is a play script about a girl who has moved from Africa to England and is finding it difficult to settle in at school.
Scene: First day at new school

Ms Wooley: Class Teacher
Dave: first pupil
Lisa: second pupil
Florence: new girl
(Florence wanders in to the class looking around nervously).
(Ms Wooley notices Florence and walks towards her)
Ms Wooley(smiling): You must be Florence. Welcome
Florence: Yes. Thank you (She whispers)
Ms Wooley: Have a seat. Class starts at 08:30am
(rest of the pupil walks into class).
Ms Wooley: Good morning class. We have a new pupil among us. She is called Florence and has travelled from Africa with her family to England. Today is her first day. Please do make her feel welcomed. I need to volunteers to help show Florence around the school.
Dave and Lisa quickly raised up their hand
Ms Wooley: Thank you Dave and Lisa for the help.
(First lesson ends, play time).
Dave and Lisa walks towards Florence.
First pupil: Hi my name is Dave
Second pupil: hello, my name is Lisa. Welcome to our school.
Lisa: Where in Africa do you come from?
Florence: Botswana
Dave: Have you got any siblings?
Florence: Yes. Two older brothers. Peter and Paul.
(As they walk down the corridors)
Lisa. Look! we are at the library and next to it, is the canteen.
Dave: Opposite is the assembly hall. We have assembly twice a week. Wednesdays and Fridays.
Lisa: Down the hall to your right are the lavatories. Wow! look at the time. Play time is almost over.
Dave: Let us head back to class. We will continue tomorrow.
Ms Wooley: Florence. How are you feeling?
Florence: Very sad(starting to burst in to tears)
Ms Wooley. Aww. Do not cry. We are all here to help you settle in.
Florence: I will miss all my friends back home in Botswana(still crying)
Ms Wooley: It is okay to miss your friends but with time I hope you will make new friends and great
ones too.
(Dave and Lisa gives Florence a hug to cheer her up)
Ms Wooley: Class is finished. Children please tuck in your chairs and put all stationary away.
School finished at 15:20pm.(Ms Wooley stayed with Florence till her parents arrived to pick her up)
