GOZO

Gozo is one of the five Maltese islands in the centre of the Mediterranean sea. It's population is that of about 30,000 people. The capital city of Gozo is Victoria. The beautiful beaches, green landscapes, traditional food and historical places make Gozo a place to visit.

Some of the beautiful beaches found in Gozo are x-Xatt l-Ahmar, Marsalforn, ir-Ramla l-Hamra and Dwejra. Gozo is also known as the island of the three hills or the isle of Calypso. This is because of a legend related to Calypso Cave which is found near the beautiful beach of Ramla l-Hamra.

During summer a lot of tourists and divers come

to swim and admire the beautiful coral reefs. Gozo is

renowned for its historical places. Some of the historical

places found in Gozo are Cittadella and Ggantija.

The temples of Ggantija are found in Xaghra and they

are the oldest standing temple on Earth. Some of the

traditional food found in Gozo are rabbit stew and cheese pies made with Gozitan cheeslets.
