What does Christmas mean to you?

Christmas for me is a time when my family and I gather together and celebrate. It is a time of warmth and togetherness. For me the best part of Christmas is the big family dinner we have with my grandparents, aunts and uncles. My mum always makes the most delicious food my favourite like roast chicken and potatoes, vegetables, and many other scrumptious things. But what I like most is not the food and presents but being gathered round all together safe and sound at home.

Another of our Christmas traditions is when we make cookies with my family. Mum usually prepares the ingredients and my brothers and I help her make the dough. After it is done my mum goes to get the cookie cutters and which is a good time for us to steal a little piece of dough so she won't notice! Then when all the shapes have been cut we put them in the oven. The house smells like Christmas as the cookies bake. After they are cooled off we get to try one. The rest of the cookies we share with our grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. That is another important part of Christmas sharing what we have with others.

However, the real reason of Christmas is that Christ, the son of God,, was born that day. We should celebrate his birth by being kind and helpful to everyone and spending time with friends and family.
