Oscar Romero

Oscar Romero was born in El Salvador in 1917 on the 15 August. El Salvador was separated between rich and poor.The rich led the country . When Oscar was 14 in 1930 he wanted to be a priest so he went to study at a junior seminary .When his mum got ill he left the seminary for 3 months .He went to work in a gold mine in Postos to get money for his mum's medison .he earnd 4p a day.

In 1937 Oscar went to Rome to study he stayed there during wold war 2.Well Oscar was in Rome his brother and farther sadly died . In 1942 he was ordaind a priest. He returned to El Salvador

and held masses for the poor he became famous for his sermonys he did alot of parish work.
