The solar system

There are eight planets in the solar system.

Mercury,Venus,Earth,Mars,Jupiter,Saturn,Uranus and Neptune.

There is one more planet in the solar system. It is Pluto. It is a dwarf planet.



Mercury is the smallest and closest to the sun so it's hot but it's not the hottest.

Venus is the hottest planet. It is the second closest to the sun.

Earth is the planet we live on. Earth is called the blue planet because 70% of the earth is covered with water.

Mars is next. It is the fourth planet from the sun it is called the red planet. It is home to the tallest mountain in the solar system.

Now Jupiter is next. Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system.

Saturn has rings around it made of ice chunks and bits of space dust. It's very cold on Saturn.

Jupiter is made of gasses. It also has a massive storm called the red spot. It is wider than planet Earth.
