Out at the sea

It was a sunny Saturday morning. When we had to go on a fishing advanture. It was my first time going on my dad's fishing boat and I was really looking forward.

We took two big blue bags full of food and drinks. We went to the east of Malta with my mum Maruzzella, dad Brian, brother Gerald and me Christabel. Before we left we read some words from the bible and facts about fish. We played board games and prayed and finally my dad checked everything and we had it off. I was so excited and happy. While my dad was controlling the boat I saw the clear blue calm water and fish swimming. I smelled the salty water and I touched the water with my hand. In a split of a second it started to rain, thunder roared, flashing thunder even more crazier. We started to worry we were panicking. We calmed down and tried to go back. We couldn't because of the big splashing waves. The boat was going up and down because of the waves. I felt sea sick. We realised the boat had a hole. We got our life jackets on and jumped into the sea. We calculated from where we were coming. My life jacket was purple, my brother's was blue, dad's green and mum's pink. We tried to swim back but the waves were too strong for us. We stayed awake for the whole night. The sun came up. The water became calmer and we swam back.

We survived thanks to God. We were scared to death. We never went back to fish again. I think we just were brave on the advanture.
